Here's what our clients have to say

I've used Sprouting Pines Guide Service on several float trips and the service is unmatched. The guide is extremely knowledgeable about the rivers, patterns and fish in the area. He has patience with clients who need some help and provides superb guidance for more experienced anglers. If you want to fish like hell all day and not worry about the details, this is the trip for you. Stiff drinks, good food, and lots of trout on the end of my line.......suits me just fine.

Joel Harris, Detroit Rock City

By far the best day and evening of the HexHatch 2004 was the one spent with my Dad, floating down the Manistee river in Woody II with Dan at the helm. It was one of those evenings when bugs were sure to come down by the millions, but somehow did not appear. Trout were taken and released on the trip to one of Dan's secret holes that hold lunker browns, but no monsters came up that evening. But I can honestly tell you it didn't matter. Dan's knowledge of the river took us downstream on a pace that allowed perfect drifts off the front of the boat, a dinner stop at a hole that held several brookies and browns, and to the lunker hole at the perfect time. The time with my Dad on my favorite water was better than catching the biggest brown in the river.

Tom V, Traverse City

Dan is the best fisherman I have ever known. I thought I was good until I fished with him. It was like he had a contract with the trout. They just jumped into the boat all day.

Trevor McClintic, Drifter

My son has taught me so much about fishing for trout. I have been fishing for over fifty years and have never seen his level of expertise. I will be taking lessons from him for years to come.

"The Director", Sprouting Pines

I not only took fishing tips from Dan but also found him to provide excellent political advice. Immediately following our outing I went back to the White house and decided to strive for world peace. Trout fishing in Woody II soothed me and cleared my mind.
