Your Guide, Dan Smith

Trout fishing is an addiction for me. I was raised in a family of fisherman. My Grandfather (Woody Smith), for which the boat is named, purchased the cabin in Grayling in 1951. He and my Grandmother (Connie) loved the river and spent summers with friends and family at the cottage. Woody named the place Sprouting Pines for obvious reasons. The land surrounding the cottage was covered with young pines. Now, over fifty years later, those pines enclose the entire yard and make for a beautiful setting. I learned to fish at the hand of my father, Tom Smith, otherwise known as "The Director". He and his brother, Sid Smith, still fish if the temperature is above 65 degrees. They are the inspriration for my love of fishing.

Instruction

When you book a day with me on "The Woody" you will recieve as much instruction as you desire. I have over a decade of experience and offer friendly advice throughout the day. You may even get unfriendly advice if you miss a rising trout.
